May: Sesko was forced off in the win over Liverpool and then missed the whole of pre-season, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Carabao Cup: Michael Carrick eased him back carefully and gave him a start against Brighton, before replacing him after 66 minutes.
Fulham: Sesko did not travel for the league game at Fulham. Carrick confirmed on Sunday that a shin issue was the reason.
Monday: Sesko withdrew from the Slovenia squad for the games against Scotland, North Macedonia and Switzerland.
What he and his coach said
In a message on Instagram, Sesko said his priority was his recovery and that he was working to get back on the pitch as soon as possible. Slovenia coach Bostjan Cesar told Planet Nagomet that it was "an atypical injury that requires time to heal" and that Sesko needed good rehabilitation and people he trusts around him.
Sesko has drawn criticism in Slovenia for leaving the squad, the Manchester Evening News reported, but Cesar's message was one of support.
